My name is Desirée (she/her) I am a Cree-Métis Birth and Postpartum Aunty/Doula and the founder and lead Doula at Lean On Me Doula Services.
As a mother myself, I know it takes a village to raise families and I believe that supporting lifegivers to have their births, their way, gives the birthing person back the confidence and dignity that is so often taken away when they aren't heard and encouraged, this is what fuels my life long love of all things baby. Supporting families during pregnancy, birth and the 'fourth trimester' is my calling and I am blessed to do be able to do this .
When I am not supporting other lifegivers and their families I Spend my time having big and small adventures of all sorts with my son William, my partner JP and our three fur babies.
I have been providing labour, postpartum and breastfeeding support for over 10 years. In 2018 I did my Birth Doula training with DONA International. I am currently training with H.E.R.B.A.L as a Peer Lactation Counselor. I plan on learning all I can in this life and hope to still be doing what I love till I am old and wrinkly. I am honoured to be a part of your most intimate days.
